Volunteer Coordinator

Working with the Director of the Meals on Wheels program and the agency’s Director of Volunteers, the Volunteer Coordinator coordinates meal delivery routes for more than 3,800 volunteers and provides them with essential information needed to perform their duties and maintains a pool of volunteer drivers adequate to cover all route vacancies.

The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the recruitment of reliable volunteer drivers through developing and maintaining community resources and will participates in volunteer activities including committee meetings, special corporate projects, holiday meal delivery, volunteer recognition, holiday gift giving, public relations and community outreach activities as directed.

Qualifications include a minimum of 2 years experience in volunteer/non-profit sector or a high volume customer service position. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to manage large volumes of simultaneous customer requests, proficiency in use of applicable computer programs and the ability to support team objectives across departments. Demonstrated knowledge of volunteer community resources is highly desired.

Texas Discovery Gardens is looking for a high energy, outgoing individual who loves working with people in a nonprofit environment. Responsible for recruitment, training, scheduling and management of volunteers to assist/support/deliver Texas Discovery Gardens programming. Will be developing and implementing adult and family programs and assisting with promotional and special events. Candidate will also be working with Children's Education Coordinator, teaching "Earthkeepers" school programs during peak season.

The Medical Center of Plano will soon advertise for a full-time Volunteer Resources Supervisor to become part of the Guest Services Department. The position will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating and managing the volunteer program.
